This Russian ensemble offers an extensive program of fiery, temperamental dances of the numerous people inhabiting this mountain country. The dances reflect the power of human love, the people's struggle for their happiness and pride in their country. The stage interpretation of traditional folklore motifs, the Lesginka Dance Company's high performing mastery and emotional pitch, along with the novelty of the subjects of the dances, leave an indelible impression. Performing in cities in Russia, Europe and Asia, their return to the United States will be something you will not want to miss.
Five young, dynamic talents, with international reputations, collaborate in an exquisite chamber music performance. Founded in 1995 by a group of Julliard School solo musicians, this group has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Royal Festival Hall in London and Shanghai's Grand Theatre. Concertante consists of two violinists, two violists, a cellist, and has a reputation for a brilliant and compelling presentation of a wide variety of chamber music with exceptional clarity and depth.
These twenty-two singers, with an average age of 25, have been drawn from the top music schools, the National Youth Choir and young soloists who are headed for professional careers in vocal performance. Following in the great male chorus tradition of Wales, the Black Mountain Chorus performs a wide ranging program of Welsh hymns, ballads, British music, songs from Scotland, Ireland and America. "The Chorus' performance is often described as a musical journey through Wales."
These fine musicians provide an evening of easy listening pop/jazz tunes from the standards of yesterday to the popular hits of today. Performing on piano, drums and bass, these musicians will have you recalling tunes from a Wizard of Oz medley, Glenn Miller medley and Stardust, to keeping rhythm to Billy Joel tunes. In existence since 1971, the Tom Prin Trio has performed over 200 concerts throughout the Midwest.
Synergy's high artistic standards and unstoppable energy have made this one of the country's finest brass ensembles, bringing a new exciting brand of chamber music to audiences since 1996. The ensemble performs a wide variety of music, ranging from the Early Renaissance to the Modern, to Jazz and Rock. Currently in residence at Boston University Tanglewood Institute, the ensemble is dedicated to the education of young musicians. "A delightful performcance for all ages."
