Kearney Concert Association Youth Concerts

Kearney Concert Association Youth Concerts feature exciting repertoire as well as interactive and directed listening activities to keep students focused and involved. The concerts will fascinate and engage young audiences with upbeat music in an educational setting. Opportunities to attend will be announced annually.

"Backtrack Vocals" October 6, 2022 and "Empire Wild" November 3, 2022

The Kearney Concert Association invites you and your students to join Backtrack Vocals and Empire Wild for two Youth Concert of outstanding entertainment and high-energy music in an educational setting. Choose one or both.

Backtrack Vocals is a five-person a cappella ensemble based in New York City. With top-notch vocal and beatboxing abilities plus a versatile repertoire including pop, funk, Motown, standards and Broadway, this YouTube sensation has gained over 12,000,000 views and 107,000 subscribers. They have appeared on NBC, FOX, PBS, and Broadway's Kinky Boots.All Youth Concerts are free.

A genre-bending, crossover trio, Empire Wild has brought their signature mix of original music, inventive covers and twists on the classical canon to audiences across the country. Ken and Mtch bring all the cello ha to offer - bowed, plucked, chopped and more while Brandon can be found singing and playing anything he can get his hands on.

Make it a field trip!

Are you thinking you would like to make this a full day? The Archway, Museum of Nebraska Art, Trails & Rails Museum and the Nebraska Firefighters Museum would be great destinations. To help with your busing expenses, consider applying for a Nebraska Arts Council School Bus for the Arts grant. Funds are limited so apply early. Don't forget that the Target Corporation also provides busing grants.
